Mixed migration reports

The Mixed Migration Hub working group (MHub) is the public platform of the North Africa Mixed Migration Task Force, a joint initiative of IOM, DRC, OHCRH, RMMS, Save the Children, UNHCR and UNODC.

Mhub is undertaking field surveys with migrants, refugees and asylum seekers along key migratory routes to build a body of data over time and map  country and regional mixed migration trends. This snapshot presents early survey findings of the profiles, intentions and experiences of those who travel in mixed migration flows.

Mali is an important transit zone for migrants from West and Central African countries. These migrants are generally located in the regions of Gao, Kidal, Timbuktu, Kayes, Koulikoro and Segou. Many go through these regions to reach North Africa and Europe. Gao’s region serves as a passage for most sub-Saharan migrants in transit to Algeria, Libya and the borders of northern Niger.
