Established in Mali since 1998, IOM provides the Malian Government with technical and institutional expertise in a variety of fields linked to migration and has, further to the 2012 crisis, considerably increased its activities. The Organization has a national office in Bamako as well as three sub offices in Timbuktu, Gao and Mopti where most of its rehabilitation, community stabilization, health and protection assistance activities are carried out.
IOM in Mali has significantly increased its operations after the crisis in 2012. The activities are implemented country wide.
Currently, the mission has hundred staff and a main office in Bamako and three sub-offices in: Mopti, Timbuktu and Gao
Through the implementation of different projects in the country, IOM provides humanitarian assistance to both international migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
